Aligners and Treatment

Request for replacement aligners in case of loss or fracture:

In case of lost or broken aligners, you must access the RealAligner platform and enter the corresponding patient ID. Then, you must request the aligner you wish to replace, indicating:

  • The exact number of the affected aligner.
  • Any relevant clinical observations, such as time of previous use, impact on treatment or patient-specific instructions.

Once the request has been sent, the RealAligner team will manage the shipment of the replacement aligner as soon as possible. During this time, it is recommended to assess whether the patient should continue with the previous aligner or if he/she can move on to the next one, according to clinical criteria.

If an aligner does not fit properly and, after clinical checks, it is concluded that it is not possible to continue with the current aligner or advance to the next one, it will be necessary to request a refinement of the case.

Steps to follow:

  1. Complete clinical evaluation:
Ensure that the patient has complied with the indicated wearing time and that chewies or other aids have been used correctly.
  2. New record taking:
New impressions or updated intraoral scans should be taken of the patient.
  3. Submission of new STL files:
Upload the updated STL files to the RealAligner platform, together with the new clinical indications. This will allow you to design a new planning based on the current treatment situation.
  4. Refinement request:
On the platform, upload the case as “Refinement” and include any relevant comments on the adjustment issues detected.

They should be worn at least 22 hours a day, removing them only to eat or brush your teeth.

Generally, every 15 days, unless the professional indicates another frequency.

Drinking only water is recommended. Hot or sugary foods and beverages may deform or stain the aligners.

Yes, it is normal to experience mild pressure during the first few days of each stage. This indicates that the treatment is working.

Care and Maintenance

Wash them with cold water and neutral soap. Do not use hot water or abrasive products.

Contact your practitioner as soon as possible. Depending on the timing of treatment, it may be suggested to advance to the next aligner or request a replacement.
